Built by people who've run a dance studio, so the small, repetitive jobs are already taken care of.
No. TeamSpot works alongside whatever you use for registration, tuition and families. It runs your staff side: schedules, subs, class materials, timesheets, recitals and communication. You can bring your class schedule in from your studio software's export.
No. Most studios set TeamSpot up themselves in under an hour with the free step-by-step Setup guide. If you'd rather have help, we'll do it for you for a one-time $499: we import your staff and class schedule, organize your syllabuses and materials, and set up your calendar and roles.
There's no student database. The only student details are the few staff need: a name on an injury report, the student's name on a private lesson, or a photo opt-out note on a class, visible only to the people who need them.
Yes. TeamSpot is one app for dance and music: tick Music (or both) when you sign up. Private lessons come first on the schedule, instruments are your class types, and TeamSpot checks the teacher and room are free every week before a lesson is saved (and, with Pro, that one of the school's instruments is too). Lessons show on teachers' schedules and timesheets like any class. Started with dance and added music? An admin turns Music on in Studio settings; nothing is lost.
Every studio's information is kept completely separate, and the database itself checks who may see each record, so a mistake in the app can't show one studio's data to another. Everything is encrypted in transit, and connections like Google Drive are stored encrypted.
Help & FAQ in the app, a guided setup checklist, and email support at support@teamspot.app, answered by the people who built it. Want us to do the setup? It's a one-time $499.
No. They open a link on their phone and add it to their home screen; it works like an app, with notifications.
Most studios are ready in under an hour with the step-by-step Setup guide inside TeamSpot: import your class list (rooms, styles, levels and ages are set up for you), enter your staff's emails and connect your Google Drive. Show me around gives everyone a quick tour of the app. Rather hand it off? For a one-time $499 we'll load your schedule, staff, syllabus and music for you, ready on day one.
You don't need one: the demo is the real app with a full studio in it. Try it as a teacher, a director or the owner, on your phone or computer, with no sign-up. When you're ready, sign up monthly or yearly (two months free).
Essentials has everything staff use day to day: chat, schedules and subs, the library, tasks, repairs and Search. Pro adds timesheets (the time clock, timesheet checks, approvals and exports), shifts and rooms, departments, projects, routines, directors' class feedback, the org chart and work overview, the full dashboard and more storage. You can switch any time; moving to Essentials hides Pro features but never deletes anything.
No. Every plan includes unlimited staff. Multi-location businesses pay per location, with $10 off every location after the first.
Yes. From Billing, turn your studio into a business account: your studio becomes the first location, nothing moves, and you add the next one in a minute. One invoice covers every location, and a location added partway through a billing period is prorated onto your next invoice.
Yes. Set who reports to whom, and each manager sees the tasks and projects of everyone below them, with what's late or blocked. Admins see everything.
Yes. Set up a private line (most studios call it Private, owner only) and only the person asking and the people in it can read it, not even other admins.
Yes. Upload an Excel file or CSV, link a Google Sheet, or upload the export from your studio software (the Setup guide shows you how). We match the columns and teachers, add your rooms, styles and levels, and show any problems before anything is saved.
Each studio's data is completely separate. Private notes and injury reports are only visible to the people they're meant for.
Yes. TeamSpot works on any phone, tablet or computer. Teachers usually use their phones; the office and owners often keep it open on a computer, with a wider layout and the dashboard.
When an admin or director approves it, TeamSpot asks for a sub for each class in those days. Teachers who teach that style and age group and want to sub hear first, then everyone who's free; the first to accept is assigned. Directors see anything still open, with the best matches. If the time off is withdrawn, requests nobody has taken are canceled.
Yes. Add up to three assistants to any class. They see the class on their schedule with its music, notes and videos, can add class videos and photos, and can be given tasks, event jobs and polls. If they can't make a class they either let the teacher know or ask another assistant to cover. Paid assistants clock in for Assisting (paid by class time, with Pro); unpaid volunteers and student teachers never see a time clock.
A dance studio owner of 22 years (about 1,300 students and 40+ staff) who is also a professional software developer with 15 years of experience. It's built from running a real studio, not from guessing.
Yes, with Pro. Staff clock in by category (teaching, admin, costumes…), you set your pay period once, and staff can fix their hours until your cutoff. Before payday TeamSpot flags missed clock-outs, classes with no hours and overlapping entries; a class with no hours is fixed in one click. Then you approve and export the hours for your payroll provider. TeamSpot prepares the hours; it doesn't run payroll or pay anyone. Salaried staff don't clock in.
In your studio's own Google Drive. An admin connects it once; videos upload from the phone straight into a folder for each class or event, and only your staff can open them. TeamSpot can't see the rest of your Drive.
Yes. Admins switch any feature on or off for the whole studio, or just for certain people, so your team only sees what you use.
Yes, any time, from Billing in the app. Your plan ends on the last day of the billing period you've paid for, and nothing more is charged. Nothing is deleted, so you can come back any time.
