Privacy policy

TeamSpot is a staff app for dance studios, operated by Uyar Consulting Partners LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“TeamSpot”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information TeamSpot keeps, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. A studio (or business) that uses TeamSpot decides what its staff share in it; for that information, the studio is responsible for its use and TeamSpot processes it on the studio's behalf.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address, and the studios you belong to and your role there. You sign in with a code sent to your email (or with Google, if you choose); we don't keep passwords.
- What your team adds: messages, announcements, class schedules, tasks and notes, documents and files, photos, requests to departments, repair and supply requests, room bookings, shifts, time clock entries, class feedback, polls and shout-outs.
- Student information your studio enters: for example a student's name in an injury report or a class's photo opt-out note. Studios should add only what they need.
- Technical information: when you last opened the app, and, if you turn on notifications, your device's notification address. We also keep error logs to fix problems, cleared after a few months. There are no advertising trackers in the app itself (see Cookies for our public website).
- Agreements and visits: when you accepted TeamSpot's terms, acceptable use policy and this policy (and which version), and when the TeamSpot team visited your studio with its admin's permission.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We keep the plan and subscription status, not card numbers.
How we use it
Only to run TeamSpot for your studio: showing your team what's theirs, sending the reminders and notifications you expect, keeping the service secure, and billing. We don't sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use these providers to run TeamSpot, each only for its part of the service:
- Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in) and Amazon Web Services (hosting), in the United States.
- Resend (sending emails, such as sign-in codes, invites and notification summaries).
- Apple, Google and Mozilla deliver push notifications to the devices where you turn them on; they see only the notification itself.
- Stripe (payments).
- Google, only if your studio connects its Google Drive for videos (see below) or you sign in with Google.
- Google Ads and Google Analytics, only on our public website and the page you see after a purchase, to measure our ads and how the website is used (see Cookies).
- Anthropic, only if your studio turns on AI-written answers in Search: the matching passages from your studio's own content are sent to write the answer.
Google Drive
A studio admin can connect the studio's Google Drive so videos uploaded in TeamSpot are stored there. TeamSpot asks Google only for access to the files it creates and the folder the admin picks (the “drive.file” permission). It uses that access only to create a folder for each class or studio date, upload the videos your staff choose, and show links to them in TeamSpot. It doesn't read, change or delete anything else in your Drive. The admin can disconnect at any time in Admin → Video storage, which also removes TeamSpot's access from Google.
TeamSpot's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
- Your studio's content stays while the studio uses TeamSpot. When something is deleted, its files are deleted too.
- Marketing photos are removed six months after they're added unless someone marks them to keep.
- When someone leaves a studio, their private documents and notes there are deleted. Time clock records and injury reports are kept, because studios are required to keep them (payroll records, for example, for at least three years).
- If a studio closes its account, its information is deleted within 90 days, except what we must keep by law.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each studio's information is kept separate and access is checked by the database itself for every request. Connections to Google Drive are stored encrypted.
The TeamSpot team only goes into a studio's account when its admin allows it (Admin → TeamSpot support), for setup or to help with a problem, and the admin can turn that off at any time. Even then we can't see billing, chat, injury reports, department requests, class feedback or time entries, and each visit is shown to the studio's admins.
Cookies
Inside the app, TeamSpot uses only the cookies it needs to work: keeping you signed in, and remembering a few choices on your device (like the demo or a dismissed tip). There are no advertising or tracking cookies in the app.
Our public website (teamspot.app's homepage, features, pricing, demo and sign-up pages) and the page you see right after a purchase use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, and Google Ads to measure our advertising: Google's tag notes when someone who clicked one of our ads visits, starts signing up or buys, so we know which ads work. We've turned off ad personalization and Google signals, so this isn't used to build advertising audiences or to show you personalized ads. Google handles this information under its own advertising policies; you can manage Google's ad settings at adssettings.google.com, or block these cookies in your browser without affecting TeamSpot.
Your choices
You can see and change your profile in the app. To get a copy of your information or have it deleted, ask your studio admin or email us at privacy@teamspot.app. TeamSpot is for staff, not for children; we don't knowingly collect information from children except what a studio enters about its students as described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states with privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we keep about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising. Because a studio decides what its staff share in TeamSpot, we may pass your request to your studio's admin, or handle it with them. Email privacy@teamspot.app; we'll confirm it's you before acting on a request.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll ask everyone to read and accept the new version before continuing to use TeamSpot.
